When you join BOTY, the first thing you should do is set up your profile. Your profile introduces you to your followers and lets users know when and where you bartend. Having a complete profile (and regularly updating it also makes it easier for you to receive ratings and tips from your customers.

 

Profile Setup

 

To create a new BOTY account and set up your profile, do the following:

 

1. Download BOTY from the App Store or Google Play
2. Click Skip from the tutorial screens
3. Sign up in one of three ways:
   1. Click Facebook 
   2. Click Google
   3. Input your email address and click continue
4. Indicate whether you are a Bartender, Networker or Patron (select Bartender)
5. Review the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy
6. Click Agree and Continue
7. Enter your name
8. Upload your photo if not signed up via Facebook or Google
9. Enter your City, State
10. Add your password and confirm password
11. Click Next Step
12. Enter referral code (if applicable) and click Redeem or click Skip
13. Input your favorite beverage from the drop down
14. Write in your favorite bar
15. Write in your work bar
16. Write in the cocktail your most proud of
17. Write in your go to bar order
18. Share your biggest influence
19. Share some information about you
20. Click Next Step
21. Input your work schedule and update weekly 
22. Click Next Step
23. Add any Drink Recipes
24. Click Next Step
25. Upload up to 5 Images about you
26. Click Register

 

Keep in mind that when you share something on your profile, the audience you choose can also see it in other places on BOTY, such as in Feed and search.

 

Some of the information on your BOTY profile will always be public. For example, your profile picture and name will always be public to make it easier for other users to identify you if they want to send you a follow request.

 

It’s important to create a good first impression with your customers. Choose the photos and information  that you share here wisely. Make sure that the content that you share aligns with the social media rules of the establishment that you work for.

 

How do I add a profile video?

 

If you want to make your BOTY profile more exciting, you now have the option of adding a profile video. 

 

To upload a profile video to BOTY’s iOS or Android app, do the following:

 

1. Click on Profile in the upper right hand corner
2. Click on Edit in the upper right hand corner
3. Update any information about you
4. Click Add Video
5. Select Choose
6. Select OK if you would like BOTY to access your photos
7. Click the check mark in the upper right hand corner to save

 

There are a few things to know about your profile video:

• Profile videos are limited to 15 seconds. 
• Uploading a new profile video automatically overwrites your old profile video.
• Your profile video will show up in your Feed and your followers will receive a notification that you’ve changed your profile video if you decide to upload a new one at a later date.

 

How do I turn my profile to private?

 

By default, all BOTY users will be able to see your profile. You can make your profile private so that only certain contacts you approve can see your profile. If your profile is set to private, only your approved contacts will see your Posts, Bartender Ratings, and Weekly Schedule.
